Spare outer lenses are available at fiver each. Theres a few brands selling the same shape masks I had intended to phone machinemart to see if they are cheaper. Possibly tomorrow!

Ive been doing a bit of arc welding the last couple weeks and got to say the visor is holding up well. No scratches and no splatter or marks. I did boil some zinc/braze joints which coated everything white but all wiped off.

I used mine in anger this week and I really like it.
Comfy, the side panes are great, the 'true colour' is nice and shows a blue arc, plus the end of the workpiece.

I did this. GYS first, who wont sell direct. Phoned Machinemart, its not a stock item.. £11.20 plus vat for 3 lenses, £7.50 plus vat for GYS postage, and £6.75 postage from MM. Gys wont post direct and two lots of postage brings it to £30.54 in total

Anyway I think the 5 that come with the Ginour are enough.

Mine arrived this morning.
The headband seems a bit lightweight, but I'll not be putting this to commerical use and I expect it will last long enough.
Fun and games putting the headband back in after I'd removed it to gain proper access to the dark module to check the batteries.
I'll see how it shapes up, but initial impressions are good.

As per the impressions on posts #10 and #11.
For DIY use it should be fine for a few years. The adjustment afforded by it is great.
I also saw the nonsense 'review' left about it being 'too light'...

I hated the old style that is common on all cheap lids. You'd prefer one of those? It can be swapped easy enough..

The headband is as much an improvement as the true colour lens over the old green adf's! I can actually wear this one comfortably and keep it on, not taking it off at every opertunity.

All the proper brands have something similar in design, that I assume these newer chinese ones have copied/inspired from.

Handy to know there's at least some degree of fitting across makes. I get on with the older, more sturdy ones until they break. The new headband is quite comfy, I'm not denying that, but it's made of some type of polythene and both the ratchet at the back and the sides don't inspire me with confidence. In heavy use I'm sure they'd be binned inside a month and something more robust put in - like the older unit.

Forgot to update this. My purchase arrived last week, and it's better than I'd hoped. Vey light and comfortable, with loads more adjustment than I'll ever use.
The important part though - the welding clarity. It's quite a marked improvement on either of my other two auto darkening helmets - well worth the money in my opinion.

I've just bought one and I'm really impressed with it, seems much better than my speedglas 9002D. The strap/headband is excellent as is the visibility and overall feel of the helmet

Just want to say thanks for the heads up , bought one about 4 weeks ago and didn’t get a real change to test it until this week ..

What can I say , bloody brilliant compared to my old parweld . I haven’t used grind mode as don’t need to but is absolutely spot on .

I’m mig welding with it and got the settings just right for me , the only negative on mine is that I have a window near by and if I get the angle just right / wrong , the natural day light starts a disco mode of blacking out , on off on off . But really isn’t the end of the world unless you wanted to work outside .

As for the head cradle , I actually quiet like it to be fair .

It popped up on my amazon again today, showing as £43 plus voucher makes it £34.40 at the moment.

I get the angle just right / wrong , the natural day light starts a disco mode of blacking out , on off on off . But really isn’t the end of the world unless you wanted to work outside .

Try adjusting the delay?
I always have mine set sensitivity and delay at maximum, it works for me, no annoyances that way and saves having to mess about with settings.
