How do you get all the bits out of the cylinder?
In the D3 I think two are relatively inaccessible as the engine is set back so far.

I probably need to look up the process but how do you then get the tip out? Do the kits come with some sort of jig to stop the drill from wandering?You don't drill right through.
Had one snap off beneath the threads on a Peugeot partner 1.6hdi
Cylinder 1!!
Luckily the top removed and we took it for a hard and hot run.
About 40miles later, heard a loud twang followed by chuff chuff chuff.
Blew the rest of the glow plug out.
Screwed in the new one
Job jobbed!

It depends on what's seized/snapped.
It's usually either the body has seized in due carbon build up caused by leakage up the side of the glowplug, or the thread has seized due to corrosion.
I've never personally seen a tip seize in place, but the worst case scenario is that you have to remove the head to retrieve parts.
The kits contain various drills, that allow you drill out the various sections, and often taps/small pullers to extract the remains.
However, usually once you drill so much away, the drill will grab and spin the remains, at which point it can be pulled out.
Or you can skip the manual extraction part after drilling, by starting the engine and giving it a rev, and hope it blows the remains out.
Just remember it will can come out like a bullet, so wedge various rags over it to catch it and make sure nobody is standing in the firing line.
