Well I have painted the whole underside of my mini with gravitex and will be over coating it in body colour shortly.
How's it look? Any chance of posting a pic?
Well I have painted the whole underside of my mini with gravitex and will be over coating it in body colour shortly.
Finished the epoxy mastic layer (apart from areas around the axle where I can't get to at the moment) and tiger sealing of the painting on my Volvo Amazon estate but still dithering in typical me style over if I should paint the whole underneath with Gravitex or just the arches. What is the general consensus? The car won't see winter roads, isn't a daily drive but I want it to be hard wearing but still look the part and am overpainting with body colour 2k.
If anyone is interested I posted the painting over on the projects section of the forum.
Cheers,
Mitch
Is that using the gravitex gun, a schutz gun or a big tip spraygun?
This is the gun I bought for the job; http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/130748876192?ssPageName=STRK:MEWNX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1497.l2649
Says on the Gravitex bottle that for orange peel use this type of gun and for smooth use a 2.5mm gravity (I think it is) fed gun. I'll go for the orange peel look so at least that way you know it has anti-stonechip applied as I thought if going for a smooth look and it doesn't turn out very good it will just look like a very bad spray job.
I use the same gun.
Sorry if I appear stupid but this sort of stuff is new to me, Why do you need to top coat it, it says it's waterproof and an anti corrosion coating?
