Grease. Which one for which job?

thing is that Craptical Plastics is the most usless mag going - its Hello for blokes - just pictures of other blokes projects and an endless re hashing of titlle tattle

that link how much can they get wrong in a single frame ?
1 if you clean a plug with a brass brush you leave metallic deposits on the porcelain that can lead to tracking
2 copper grease in an aircooled head dries out and goes all gungy - a drop of normal engine oil on the threads for me

if your plugs dirty deal with the cause and then fit new plugs.

Definitely sound advice. It's not always detrimental to use a brass brush on a plug though. It simply depends upon how careful you are as to whether it will cause problems or not, and something like a splash of paraffin or similar on the porcelain before cleaning will make any brass residue wipe off easily afterwards. If it's a plug which is a dog to get a replacement for, using the brush method works provided one takes their time.

However, if any equipment is in a position where galvanic corrosion can be a genuine concern, then one should be addressing the situation of improving the environment of the equipment rather than worrying about galvanic corrosion. Barring some obvious applications where it's an inevitability, if you have equipment in an environment or situation where it can be an issue, you're going to have some metal corrosion/degradation eventually regardless.
