Another story of tragedy and heartbreak from me a sob story if you will

Not having a gs911 I paid too much money to transport my r1200gs to a bmw specialist in Kent to have a aftermarket improved fuel sender strip fitted
Paid more money to transport it back today to find he had fitted it but it doesn’t work , he left that part out.
Has anyone local to me (Essex) have a gs911 diagnostic to see what’s happened.
I wish I’d known he was an idiot as I dropped two bikes off . He failed to repair the other which I did in 20 mins with a bit of common sense

Possibly closer than Kent, there is a specialist in Chessington/Surbiton which my previous boss used a few times with success. They have a bloody stupid one way, barrier controlled car park however - I was driving the van up to drop off and collect him when it went in for work.

I bought a https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B09WVJPF2F/ref=pe_27063361_485629781_TE_item using the motoscan software it does most things on my 2013 R1200R. The 4 hour round trip to the nearest dealer with software/reader persuaded me to just buy it.

Rear brake stopped working today . From what I read the abs module allows air in .
My thoughts
German stuff is junk
Electronic intervention can make an essentially basic system prone to dangerous failure.
Only owned it just over a year and it’s had a more money in parts than I could buy a nice (but old) Japanese bike

I thought the newer abs modules were more reliable. I had an abs block failure on my R1100SS was pretty buttock clenching having a linked brake failure going down a mountain road. Was an expensive repair and lost my confidence in the bike.

I got my CBR600 at 27,800 miles and she is on 127,000 miles now. Unfortunately spent too much time dissasembling, repairing and tarting up during covid then lost interest in it, last ridden in 2020. Brakes need reassembling after being stripped for cleaning. Fuel tank needs washing out as old fuel turned to rusty varnish.have a box of new brake seals, fuel pump, battery etc.. waiting to go on.

Interesting thing, at roughtly 30mpg, she has consumed about 3333 gallons of petrol, or 15,133 litres, likely about £19k of petrol through a £2k bike

I thought the newer abs modules were more reliable. I had an abs block failure on my R1100SS was pretty buttock clenching having a linked brake failure going down a mountain road. Was an expensive repair and lost my confidence in the bike.

The peculiar thing is that the front brakes were poor. Now rear have gone the front brakes work ok . So I’m thinking the rear was taking up lever travel . Linked brakes suck

One of my tractorbikes once had a flat battery and I had to use the kickstart, never broken down.

With my tractor bikes I carry a noga lithium jump pack incase the position of the moon is wrong and the tiny battery can’t turn over the car sized engine whilst being drained by car amounts of electronics.

I have installed a few of these film strip sensors.
I "think" you have to condition the sensor via the diagnostics before you fit it into the petrol tank?.

Cold be wrong but worth looking into.

I'm sure Aprilia tried them out as well, not a very robust solution unfortunately.

I fit upgraded batteries: an Odyssey in the oldie and an upgrade from 14Ah to a 16Ah snowmobile spec battery in the R1200R, I always felt the standard battery was borderline cranking the engine in cold weather.
