If im going for a critical finish I sometimes take out all the inserts except for a couple, I suppose used like a flycutter. They thrive on big speed and feed which sometime isn't best for finish depending upon the machineNow here's a question about such large diameter (and I assume multicutter wheels?). So do all the inserts get set exactly the same place (as far as is possible), and is there a risk with this that at high traverse speeds you end with gouges, or at least an uneven finish if you get it wrong?
