Yep, the other half has started rolling her eyes at what I'm watching on ebayThe fever has started.
I get that all the time, just tell her ' oh yer, someone on Mig welding forum linked to it' works for me.Yep, the other half has started rolling her eyes at what I'm watching on ebay
I got the Yankee 131 out recently for the first time in years, putting up some fencing & I've only 1battery drill. I got fed up with swapping drill, screwdriver, drill & got the Yankee out. Old Tech, but worked really well.Yankee screwdrivers are cool. I have three of those from a previous obsession
They were ok on a Philips headed screw but trying to keep them on a slot head took some getting used to, skated off my share of those with a Yankee screwdriver.I got the Yankee 131 out recently for the first time in years, putting up some fencing & I've only 1battery drill. If we're talking wood screws, slotted head have always been a challenge for me unless I started pilot holes, machine screws not so bad as long as there is straight access for the driving tool. They were ok on a Philips headed screw but trying to keep them on a slot head took some getting used to, skated off my share of those with a Yankee screwdriver.

I'll try but as a very busy 74 year old who works 7 days a week, it sometimes means I have to find a slot to do things. I never forget anything so I will do it.No chance of any pics is there?

That's very nice.Been up to the storage unit today. here's a photo of the Millers Falls breast drill with level. Unlike The Yellow Aardvark's, the original colour on the hand crank is red, not orange.

Here's a couple of Millers Falls tools that I don't have in storage, a No.77 hand drill and a ratcheting handle for auger bits; also a set of metal drills in a round wooden box for a brace type tool.
Then there's my favourite Yankee drill, the the two speed & ratcheting multifunction Model 1545. I believe this drill was at the zenith of Yankee's achievement in hand drill design.

I'll have to look at it again in the daylight to discern between orangy-red and red, but he handle is stamped Millers Falls. If it is an orangy red it is a millers falls.
If it is a red then it is a Keen, who made drills themselves and others.
Do you want a few more?but he handle is stamped Millers Falls
Thanks, but no thanks, I think my Dad would have liked me to keep it as it was.Do you want a few more?
I have some stickers as well.
