Has this metal been laser cut?

Have you contacted them to see if they will help you get what you originally expected, their ebay link does say "we are here to help" maybe if you have not already give them the chance to put it right.

Someone's cut those, picked them off the bed, seen they are cr@p, but sent them out regardless, that's the worst bit.

But have they seen they are poor quality? If you are running a cutter with high volume output, would the person loading and unloading the machine really examine every part that comes off? Probably not.

In that situation, quality comes from process control, a management function, not manual inspection, an individual responsibility. That process control is knowing how many parts (metres and pierces) a tip will cut and changing it out before that number is reached. And the loader/unloader is unlikely to have access to that data.

What I am saying is that it is too easy to blame an indivdual when it is more likely a systemic issue.

The dangerous assumption here is that the person taking the parts off the machine knows what he/she/it is looking at.

"Laser Cutting"....no tolerances on size, location, edge angle, contour finish .
You have a wide open contract from what i can see.

If thats the case it would be interesting if they reply should somone offer them a link to the forum for constuctive critism?

I have a couple of designs brewing that might suit laser cutting and the price for that seems good.

As I see it, it's a super low cost service because they're just working a high volume, low customer service model. Their emails are curt, if they respond at all. They don't provide updates or look at the DXF files until they're ready to process the order. But honestly that's fine, their low cost has saved me days of grinding, filing and milling at home.

I'm not going to go back to them about the failed job, the parts will still work, my kids will still be pleased to see their names on the buggy and at their age probably won't even notice some of the letters have fallen out.

Dimensional tolerance may be up to +/- 0.5mm in some cases."

I read that as tolerance is +/-0.5mm which will give some indication of the quality .... or consistency of quality to expect.

Sounds like a fully automated shop, they don't check the dxf files, it's all automated, you get what you get.
The parts with the lead in's on the part is a clear indicator of this.
Price isn't everything.
