yes and no.1st yes but if it blows the fuse it will also blow the houshold fuse to,
and you may find that the lights may flicker when using the welder(when its dark)
no,what I did with mine is to fit the main wire(to the garage)independent from other wires into its own fuse holder(in the house)and fitted a 15amp fuse. so if it blows it will not affect the house fitments etc.

Thanks for the info mate, i was going down the 15amp route as there was a cheap mig for sale, but it was second hand and for the sake of £200 i thought id get a new machine that would happily run on a 13amp supply with a years warrenty.
As my workshop is on a chicken farm, it (luckily) has its own power supply away from the farm house so the lights flickering isn't a problem, however, it may **** a few chooks off, not to mention jamie oliver!
