Hello everyone. which is the correct set up for mma is it + for the arc rod holder and - for the earth cheers ocean
if i remember correctly DC- or torch plug into the -, earth in the + will give deeper penetration. It is often rod dependant
Note: When the fourth (or last) digit is 0, the type of coating and current to be used is determined by the third digit.
Digit Coating Current
0 * *
1 Cellulose potassium ac, dcrp, dcsp
2 Titania sodium ac, dcsp
3 Titania sodium ac, dcrp, dcsp
4 Iron powder titania ac, dcrp, dcsp
5 Lo-hydrogen sodium dcrp
6 Lo-hydrogen potassium ac, dcrp
7 Iron powder iron oxide ac, dcrp, dcsp
8 Iron powder lo-hydrogen ac, dcrp, dcsp
Going by the chart you can use the 6013 either way. the last digit is supposed to tell you which way if the less digit is zero then you use the second last digit
dcsp is DC straight polarity electropositive or (DCEP) that is the electrode plugged into + which gives you the most penetrating
dcrp is electro negative which gives you the least penetration . That is the electrode plugged into -
ac would be considered medium penetration
Hi there scarcrow does this mean i can mma weld with my set switched to
ac or dc i thought ac was for aluminium and dc for steel but when switched
onto mma you can use ac and dc for mma welding
hope ive made sense ocean
I like the avatar shenion looks like a new welder I hope it working okay
