BTW, centrifugal switches are not usually used with caps. They activate starter windings for a short (very short)time until the motor is up to speed.

Capacitor start motors have a capacitor in series with the run winding which switches out once the motor has started to spin. You're thinking of a split-phase motor.
Except that the motor on my pillar drill had a centrifugal switch and no cap? Used the start windings to give it spin, then cut them out.
