Help with using filler and what products?

Sikka is flexible, but not very. Were you fitting Abarth bits to a Cinq, for example, that's probably all you'd use (with the odd screw on the side skirts which are just about impossible to clamp.

But with that kit, there are a lot of areas which need blending in, so the grp re-inforced filler will rigidify it all.

I can get Sikka at about a third of that price from my local factor.

ford avo used to do fibreglass arch kit eor escorts.the fitting kit was superglue,no kidding,
bare metal self tap arches in place then run the super glue into joint.
i used it rallying tore arch off on a tree. but the joint was still good.
you need to self etch fibreglass befor primer and t/coat.
there is"plastic-padding" elastic filler its very good flex wise.halfords has it in stock here. give it a try.

Once again guys thanks so much for all your great advice, ive been over whelmed with response unlike other forums.

Ive orderd two tubes of Sikka flex so hopefully if weather is ok il bond one part of the kit on at the weekend.

So to confirm P38 is to placed over P40 then rubbed down for primer?

Im confused haha, i thought P40 was the fiblre glass stuff that i should use after ive bonder the kit on to fill the gaps ect and help to hold in place then P38 Filler toget a finished look before primer?

I think I did! I got the products numbers the wrong way round. Sorry. To be clear, without any product numbers, you start with the product which contains strands of fibreglass. Use this to build up most of the required volume. Then use a smigeon of the body filler (without added fibreglass) if it's needed to get a smooth surface.

But I'm still worried about any movement causing cracks. If you can get flexible fillers and 'flexible' paint perhaps, I'd use those in sofar as such products are available. But if paint is never flexible and will always crack, there's only one solution, and that's to make sure that the new asssembly has zero movement relative to the existing bodywork.
