just picked up this little milling machine with an assortment of tooling

Not the biggest bit of kit but perfect for my hobby needs. Another new toy to play with

Does anyone have an instruction manual ?

And what’s the big yellow thing for ?

The extra depth allows the rotating assembly to fit. Somebody maybe planned to modify.

Here you go. Mounting to a lathe. Guess the extra depth puts it in the right position
