The Clarke ssssh range are extremely quiet in operation; the smaller ones produce noise levels similar to a domestic fridge compressor, and the larger ones not much louder, but they do lack throughput, unless you go for something like the sssh 150/100, but they're quite expensive.

I was thinking a box is a possibility, someone else told me I could bury it in the floor and put wood over the top of it doesn't sound right to me, I've looked at Clarke shh compressors they look good but expensive I'd like either a 100 or 150 litre ideally.

your forgetting one thing air compressors need bleeding of water from time to time so putting it into a hole is going to be fun bleeding the water out of it

That's why airgunners use dive cylinders

my super ten runs at 200/220bar from 300bar dive bottle
but as said normal compressor runs 120/150 psi dive compressors are very specialist stuff

I don't know the relative amounts you are expecting to use each function but if the impact wrench is a significant thing then I would suggest considering buying a Clarke CEW1000 or similar instead of the air gun

at the bottom end of the marketplace (where I am) I bought a sealey SA2 and decided that for infrequent use it was a pain running up the compressor and also that the SA2 didn't have enough torque to undo some of the more significant nuts so I ended up buying a CEW1000 and it has coped with most things that the SA2 couldn't including crankshaft nuts. The only downside I have found is the size of the CEW but that can be offset by getting an extension set which included an impact UJ

i hope you mean PSI not bar 180 BAR is 2610 PSI
compressors work in the 120 to 150 psi area

That's why home compressors are no use for charging them.

I put mine behind the garage in a small shed and that was enough. I can run it on a Sunday morning now and no complaints. Had to buy a powerful extractor for cooling though.
