ok so im thick you live and learn iforgot i even had it i bought a tool box 3 years ago and it was in one of the drawers never had a reason to use as of yet

any how so 90 psi is fair for the mechine then could there be anything with the rods to let oil being thrown out the breather pipe ?

is there any way of testing if theres more pressure if theres enough pressure to pump oil out the breather pipe

You are over thinking it, it's a simple little Genny, either the main jet is blocked which is very common on gennys because people just chuck em in the shed with fuel still in them then the fuel goes off the other thing is an air leak before the carb

glazed bores? usually a common problem with lightly loaded generators, but they usually run ok ( offload) until you put load on them then they die. sounds more like a fuel/jetting/idle jet problem.

Sorry for not getting back to you regarding my suggestion that it could be a governor problem. I'm afraid I'm not well up on small Hondas, Briggs & Stratton side valves are my thing, so I would check that video, which will probably show how to set the governor. Honda workshop manuals are usually free on-line anyway. On a genny, the throttle is set to a certain number of revs per min, the governor keeps it at those revs, which would otherwise drop when you load the generator by plugging something in. That is why you get that slight drop then a roar from the exhaust as it opens the throttle to increase revs back to the pre-set number. Overshooting, then dropping back, then overshooting again is known as hunting and is another common problem with governed engines. As I also wrote, 90 psi is low, so it may well blow some oil, but, unless you want to use it all day it shouldn't be a problem, just keep an eye on the oil level, though most Hondas have a low oil cutout anyway.

i have bought some carb pins and brushes to give it a good clean but got to wait untill they turn up unless theres more testing i can do
