I spent an evening in the Juniper Berry pub in the late 60’s .... that was an education for a young lad. I understand it’s all posh now.

That place has had many reincarnations over the years, but in the late 60's to the 80's ...................................... Let's just say the clientele was an eclectic bunch (Just what I've been told of course!)

We would often "round off" the night at the Bongo Club (all the Smoggies will know where I mean) and it would usually be when I was home with a pocketful of cash. I struggled to save money in those days. The evening would often start out well but we were a hard bunch in those days with the Live Hard Play Hard ethic.

When I was much younger I always said it would be a miracle if I made it past 35. I am way beyond that now and I can honestly say I have no regrets. I would have done a few things rather differently if I had the opportunity, but no regrets. Even today, there are a couple of things would not tell, but it seemed a great idea at the time. :-)

Edit: A rather sobering thought is that I am the last man standing. My "playtime" friends, all larger than life characters, are all dead. I suppose I chickened out a bit earlier than they did.

Without too much detail, some of the “women” in there had size 12 feet & prominent Adam’s apples ........... & they were the better looking ones. My mate bumped into one young women in the crowd & a very deep base voice said “just f...ing watch it”

It was a real eye opener for a sheltered lad like me, but we had a really good night in there, people watching.

Yes you could certainly have a good night in there 'people' watching. As long as you politely declined the odd 'proposal', then all was well

If you want rid of it I would happily pay the postage and a bit more, just welded up a Metro and starting on the Mk2 Jag, keep banging my helmet on some part of the car and end up using the safety squint method, then end up with a sunburnt forehead!
