Hot tub PCB

One for the electronically minded people. Went to fire the hot tub up after its winter shut down, stupidly left a water connection loose, it fired water at the main control box, turns out that there was a spare cable access way that had just been taped over so water entered the box, circuit board didn't like it. Ive checked the obvious fuses but is there anything else I can check with a multi meter before spending £300 on a new board.

I assume that you've checked the ceramic-bodied fuse, top left? Let it dry out for a couple of days, preferably somewhere warm. Try again.

Yeah checked the ceramic fuse, I actually soaked it a couple of weeks ago but now I'm on holiday getting round to having a look at it. I can wire it back in and try, cant make it worse I suppose.

Didn't trip the mcb, when you switch the power on the led light on the control panel lights up but no display, normally the pumps fire up for a minute or 2 then the display starts, now it just stays like that with no pump or anything, dealer wants to send out a panel at £150 that I've to plug in if that doesn't work they'll come out with a complete new box for £700 or so and fit it, they wouldn't sell me the box even though its only 4 connections, I can get just the board for £299 from a different supplier

I havent tried it again since its been completely dried out, can give it a go.

I'd have a look at all the components with a magnify glass to see if there are any signs of scorching, cracks or swelling.

Clean out the mechanical components e.g. connectors, DIP switches, relays (they may not be perfectly sealed) with IPA or pcb cleaner. and dry thoroughly

PCB Tracks look OK apart from a couple of hot spots but I suspect one of the chips shorted across one or more pins with the Water ingress

Well seeing as it was actually 9 weeks (time seems to have flown by)ago I flooded it I decided it was as dry as it was going to get, wired it all back in and, well to my amazement it fired the pump. Currently letting it fill with water as it wont run pump without and will see how it goes, rally didnt think all it was needing was to dry out.

Low voltage ics are not likely to be damaged with water. Maybe contamination made mains voltage cross the transformer. Can you check the low volt rails with nothing else plugged in safely.
Maybe main capacitors died
The output relays might be damaged
If you have the skills and patience then it's a case of working through it methodically

I'm going to let it fill with water then power up again and hopefully it goes through its cycle.

Haha, that's basically what I've just told the wife, I said if it heats up properly I'll buy you the new mower.

Must be the season for it, I left mine empty for a while, when I filled it back up it had odd symbols on the display and wouldn't work, I tried switching it off for a while that didn't work so I left it off overnight, still no joy, took the side off to look at it switched it on to see if the led on the board was on and it started up and ran fine, its been on ever since??? Must be the electric fairys!
