Ahhh, the old final resting place for Hughy & Ralph - and why as Billy Connelly says "why are there always diced carrots, I dinnae remember eating diced carrots"?

If it does the job its bang on...I make plenty of things from MDF, I seal it with a clear satin water based varnish to stop the water making it soggy and add a timber strap at the bottom fixed to the wall for when i over load it...top work ..

I like the idea of the timber support & sealing it!

Will most probably put some doors on it when I get a minute, But can't say if that will be any time soon!

I am doing a media wall in the small bedroom out of MDF from a sheet i got as a left over, I have doubled up on the thickness to make it look more chunky and it allows me to just PVA glue it together and clamp it, Where it hits corners and also where it creates 90 degrees i end up with tenons from the overlaps, it sits on a strip of 2" x 3/4" timber so it should never move.

I must admit I'm not a massive fan of MDF, But its pretty cheap & Plywood prices seem ridiculous. Not a fan of OSB / Chipboard either!

Sometimes you just have to settle for middle of the road.

But I do love fabricating with steel! Maybe its because I prefer welding & grinding to gluing, clamping, nailing & screwing
