Huge trolley jack I.D. anyone please ?

Hello all, I have a large trolley jack that I’m going to start tidying up. Never seen another like it.
Would anyone recognise or know the manufacturer ?
It’s 9 ft long, 2 ft 6 inch wide and even has its own transport wheels and screw jack to lift each side to fit them as it’s so heavy.
Also has slots machined in the frame where you can fit a safety bar so it won’t drop.
The only legible writing is 8 ton and a serial number.
Have also emailed the Classic British Jack website for help.

That is one mother of a jack!!! Tin of WD-40 for scale, rather than the obligatory mug ;-) Even the 100lb scale weight is dwarfed by the thing!!!

Hi Gordon it is stamped 8 tons, doesn’t sound a lot but at 5 feet from the pivot point it’s quite impressive

I've seen very similar on ebay when I was last looking, they were advertised as ex mod, maybe weber or compac.

Looks like an ex MOD/War department heavy lift jack.
Designed to lift heavy tanks etc about half as high as the full lift range.
Or the heavy trucks 3/4 lift height.
If it is.
Looks for a Broad Arrow stamp.
Date stamp.
Stores or stick number.
It may of been on a small plate. Held on my rivets. The plate may of been removed well sold on fro Government stock.

You are missing the range of jacking pads and the safety bar.
I have sent images to the REME and royal engineers museum to see if they can help

Ive seen similar ,,, they were always referred to as aircraft jacks ,,, they get very wobbly very quickly if you lift anything heavy with them , just treat it with respect ..

I suspect its a specific jack for something the Classic jack website is very good.

Yes, I will be feeling uplifted if I can identify the maker.
Had help from Classic British Jacks website, Steve has a hunch it’s a Skyhi built unit as I.D. Plate is similar to one shown on his website.
