I Need New Rod Holder - Any Recommendations?

Not without a bit of fettling they don't.

I think weldequip quoted me £14.50 delivered including hammer on lugs,and i dare say w/e's might be better quality that the flebay ones.

That was with an Earth Clamp aswell matey Postage is the killer on items like that...more than the item being posted

I managed to settle on the "tong" clamp variety, so we'll see what the postie brings.

I tend to find the tong type uncomfortable especially the smaller ones,not sure why as i don't think ive got especially big hands just seem to dig in or i cant seem to hold properly.

Don't hold the tongs with your fingers between the release lever, but with your hand over the whole thing. Gives better control (stops you gripping to tight as well 'cause the rod falls out!). W/A

I managed to procure one from eBay, weighs quite a bit more than my old one and certainly isn't flimsy. I'll have to retrain my hand to use it though due to the weight.

It was relatively easy to fit and will take anything upto a 4mm rod, if I ever want to use something that big.

I hope so, it appears to be a heavyweight brass job - no cheap and lightweight die cast metal in it.
