Ideas On Duct / Conduit

After a mega drilling session involving much cursing and stuck / broken SDS bits, I finally cored through my garage floor and footings. Then, involving an engine hoist I managed to pull through a length of DNO ducting. This goes all the way to the gate in a 700mm trench, hand dug, some 13m long.

Coming up inside the garage then I have this duct right in the corner of the floor. Its cut flush with the floor now:

Coming out of it now is a 3 core, 2.5mm SWA, a CAT-5 and a random 4 core screened flex for good measure. The two smaller cables are in their own 20mm corrugated ducts within the big duct.

Up top are the roof trusses and a 4x2 wall plate runs round 3 sides of the garage.

Looking for ideas how to bring the swa and two cables up in that corner then around the wall plate to the other side of the garage where there'll be a new consumer unit going.

50x50 galv trunking I'm thinking? Needs to be vermin proof.

Swa would just pin back to the wall using banded straps/p clips.
The other cables would pull through 25mm galv conduit with glanded ends and junction boxes.

If they can get in the trunking will love it so smaller/more awkward the better in my eyes.

I don't mind a bit of tube work, handy with the Hilmor etc. The more I think of 50x50 the more I'm coming around to it. Plenty of space too for other cables later.

You could bring it up the wall just with some boxing.
If you need it to be vermin proof then galv is probably the best bet, they do eat the plastic stuff and rats can gnaw the outer sheath of swa.

By far the best option is to rodent proof the building though.

Check the minimum bend radius of the SWA (85mm springs to mind) as you may need to use swept rather than square bends.

Call me tight but I've just taken down 2, old, steel cased, 5' fluorescent fittings. Sat here awaiting the next dump run.

(That's the front skirt off a MK4 Golf GTI in case anyone's wondering. The black bit that goes below the bumper and scrapes on everything ).

Stripped down to the casing they'd probably do a treat for the vertical section. Not galv though. Add time and paint etc.

I've only got two more to rip out. I reckon they'll do for the vertical sections no bother. Makes me want to dig out my tray work from college...I'll have to actually, or at least my books as I'm not buying corners or tees.

About £16 a length at TLC, not looking forward to buying that:

I’ve got galvanised trunking round the top with plastic drops to outlets. Spark was glad I paid the extra for the galv as it saved a lot of hassle fiddling with small trunking and lots of cables

wot 8 foot high round the room if u have rats in the building bait the place up .i used to have a few but bait all round the buildings twice a year and got rid

chuck some big cheese baitblocks in and use some mk4 fentraps there mustard if u ever want to stop rats just fill the holes with sand and cement with broken glass in

Vermin proofing the garage will mean getting rid of a good chunk of next door's conifer hedge.

Sprinkle a variety of rodent poisons inside the trucking?

Would a can of expanda foam not go some way to keeping them out?
