In some of our poultry sheds we had to rip out all the trunking and rewire on tray because of mice. They love dark places with plenty of pvc to eat.

Sprinkle a variety of rodent poisons inside the trucking?

If the trunking is done properly they shouldn't get into that.

Would a can of expanda foam not go some way to keeping them out?

Unlikely unless you embed something like mesh or steel wool in it, otherwise they will just treat it as a tasty dessert and invite their mates.

Mice absolutely trashed my workshop, I've basically been at war with them for about four years. I'd trap 20+ over a few days and by the following week they were back as if nothing had happened.
In the end I had to strip the entire building apart, and cover the thing in a couple of hundred meters of 6mm wire mesh before putting the cladding back on - touch wood, so far that has kept them out.

Even that won't keep out a determined rat though as they can chew through the mesh. Hopefully they won't bother though.
One of the old barns has two rat holes where they have chewed through the planks, one either side of the building almost perfectly opposite each other - almost as if they just wanted to take a shortcut. Talk about zero ****s given!

I think if they can sense any sort of air movement they will chew to make a pathway, and then mark it with urine so they all use it

Bought a mint rear spoiler from Nick who started CapriPower. Mice chewed through the box and destroyed it.
