lets make a list of all the big and little things that are essential/useful/unique that you carry with you or have in work shop that aid arc welding only.
even if they seem quite obvious list them any way cos someone else may not of thought of it.

-inverter welder
-plastic rod cannister, with dividers for different rods. keeps rods dry and the boxes dont last long out on site.

4.5inch grinder and grinder blades(the thick ones for grinding) the 2mm cutting ones for grinding back the root and the extra thin ones are very good for cutting thin material (3mm or less)

Two 4.5" grinders, one with a cutting disc, the other with a grinding disc. Saves a lot of messing about changing discs.

Everything else can be bypassed or should be supplied,if it aint use someone else's:try not to tell them though............

1. Bright light - to avoid need for expensive (more to go wrong) auto helmet
2. Copper strip or similar, for striking arc in the first place.

i often have a broken piece of band saw or reciprocating saw blade with large teeth to hand with some tape around half of it-it is superb for removing any slag from the corners of welds with a 7016/8 rods by dragging a tooth along the corners
