The mystery of the blue thingy solenoid valve deepens !
firstly is this the unloader valve under the pressure switch
right then buy the shape of the copper pipe up to the valve it looks like its an adaptation also because the wiring diagram in the motor cover also shows nothing for the valve.
so I decided to remove the valve and see what happens ! Well copper pipe looked like where it should be powered up and ran up 100 psi and cut out ,drained some pressure and cut back in at 60psi just as before no dramas . Now what was strange I thought it took a little longer to run up to pressure ( maybe just me ) but it seem noiser/harsher when running almost as if the air filling the reciever was making it vibrate. Also when it shut off there was the pssst of air from the unloader valve which it never did with the blue selonoid fitted.
with valve removed
the item in question So is it some type bleed valve adaption to make it run quieter and smoother it certainly does when it's fitted what do we think ?
by the way it's a Type A pump you can see the plate in the second picture. A local shop says they can still get the gasket sets for it. Also I've topped the oil and its ran a while and no signs of a leek yet. And as for the cage the band that goes front shape is really no existant .
