Last question I can buy all the materials in 304 stainless for around £100 or aluminium for around £150
Leaving money out which is going to be the best material for the job

I suppose it could come down to which material are you happiest welding.

Was thinking about that but don’t think i could bring myself to it as it’ll just look a bit like a bodge I could use it for mock up though to save the risk of wasting the metal pipe

I suppose it could come down to which material are you happiest welding.

Either or really my stainless is probably slightly neater but I’ve gone for aluminium as I think it’ll be better than 304 for being in a constantly damp environment

For salt water 316 is best!

Certainly is but for fresh water and my budged aluminium is better same stuff in 316 was about 350-400 and since it’ll be mounted to a aluminium engine I thought just stick with ally
