Thanks for this. Yes I went over every component and both sides of the circuit boards - no sign of a burn anywhere. It has two RIFA capacitors in blue plastic cases which seemed fine. As I said the only issue seemed to be an issue with the switch which, it seems, only has a 1000 operations service life.
