Is it worth trying to cut mirror glass for a rearview mirror?

Last one I bought in Birmingham, cut to size, was £3.00!

I'm waiting for when i next visit my dad so that he can "scan" the mirror in his digitiser, so that I can print CNC templates if the mirror glass cracks while I refit it. I'll try phoenixwingmirrors though, be nice to get new glass.
