I had to Cap/Loler test it every 6 months.....Pah, safe as houses, just as long as it never gets used.![]()
I have had the pleasure of using those lifts, they were actually pretty stable even at full height. We use to change high bay lamps in some warehouses off them and due to their size they were spot on!Upright used to produce a push around lift that went up to a working height of 42ft
That was interesting when you reached full height and again when you started to lower, as the mast cables tightened and relaxed... bum clenching time...

I can ashore you it does... the mast moves forwards by about 18"/24" as the mast reaches full height and the lift cables tighten up and the play the mast sections gets taken up.I can’t see how it possibly extends to 12 metres, based on what’s in the pic.![]()
I mean the one in the first post.I can ashore you it does... the mast moves forwards by about 18"/24" as the mast reaches full height and the lift cables tighten up and the play the mast sections gets taken up.
To lower the platform, there are 2 buttons that have to be pressed together by the left and right hands, as you push the buttons the slack in the cables allows the mast section to relax, causing the mast to move backwards before it starts to lower.
It feels like your riding a banana that's about to fall over, as the mast sections start to move backwards just before they start to lower. Then they move slighly forward and downwards as the movement settles.
Its a unsettling feeling to say the least, I never realy did get used to it, I'd rather drive a 185ft cherry picker at full height, it certainly feels safer...than lowering an Upright UL
That one only goes up about 1.2 metres, I'm also sure thats a typo on the specs.I mean the one in the first post.
It's almost as if they bought it from Shing-long Lifts and said "Nah" when they got it assembled, so are now trying to get rid of it.I wouldn't want to stand under any lighting they have put up, their judgement isn't up to much if they bought that.

There also other times when getting in to picker seems foolish at times........
I repaired and function tested this 17 metre cherry picker to full height, the Cherry Pickers base height was 650ft at the time....
