I have read it again and yes you are right, I thought he was comparing copper to plastic, not water plastic to air plastic..

I seem to remember something on here about regular plastic pipe shattering if its knocked while under pressure?

When I've priced up plumbing the plastic pipe is cheap but fittings are expensive, copper is the other way round.

PVC shatters, not pex or alkathene.
