junction/project box recommendations/ideas

i need to tidy this up:



where the fused spur enters the conservatory through a 6in air vent (which is no longer needed since coalfire removed)

ideally, a 160mm x 160mm x 30mm junction/project box.

or, should i just box it in with some 2x1 and 6mm ply?

Can you get a blank for the vent duct then fit a conduit stop end box to the blank with copex into it.

Although copex looks like it might be a bit short.

Not sure if its 100mm vent pipe or 110 soils pipe you have in the wall, either way you may be able to trim this down to fit

I would probably just go with a ply cover.

I'd level the pipe off and cut a square piece of stainless sheet to cover vent and cut hole in middle to take the faceplate. Hole and gromet for cable or get a fireplace with cord outlet. Stick stainless to wall.

i have about 30m of copex, so a new longer piece wont be an issue.

possibly.
there are issues with bricking it up, unfortunately.
the vent pipe is extremely well attached to the surrounding bricks, and the internal wall - it would be a hammer + chisel, then rebuilding and replastering + redecorating job.
something like a pattress box or terminal - except 6 or 8 inches square (or round) that i could just run conduit into would be perfect.

i might just 3d print something.

Reciprocating saw cut the length of the tube top and bottom, it will then come out. Then brick it up.

just cut something suitable to cover the hole and mount the switch to that

the opposite end of the pipe is embedded in the plaster of the opposite wall, and is attached with something with the tenacity of sikaflex (or MIL's "cooking")
