You aren't wrong...the boards inside were covered in grinding dust. I had to wash them down....luckily it was just the motor (I was worried the welder was toast)

I used the 100% alcohol stuff from rs components...I think most boards get washed with something similar when they're manufactured?you say you washed the boards ,
Would I have known that the little bugger will run out of steam after few rolls....It's annoying to find such a cheap part in an expensive machine...they really take the biscuit with their "genuine" replacement I think.
...mine has done maybe 2 or 3 rolls!
