I got the same welder and I paid 700€ for mine. Works great, though I am new at MIG welding.

Ive seem a couple go for £400 but i wasnt sure and took to long, tgen i decided i want one now cant find a single phase model

Looking through the manual I am not so sure these are only 3 phase here is a photo of what it states in the manual,

dont quote me as I am not electricaly minded but to me it looks like they leave the factory wired 3 phase nut if your competant they can be wires 240 volts.

As you can see it says 3~ before 230 and 400 v, this means 3 phase power for both voltages. And 3ph does come in both these voltages in europe depending on country. in Norway they have 230V and in Finland they have 400V for instance

Well if that runs on single phase I think it's probably built differently for the UK market so it can work on single phase. Someone earlier mentioned "2501" as a model designation for a single phase variant.

Found a manual for the kemppi 2001/2501 which states 1~ 240V

The 190 and 200 versions came in single phase options, from what I've seen for sale over the years. I keep an eye on those BOC machines, I'd love to compare single-phase trim to the full-fat 3ph...

I took the side panel of the mig today just to see how dirty it was, remembering how dirty my old Cebora was, I was very pleasantly surprised just how clean it was, there is a very slight dusting in side, which also tells me know ones been in there recently to clean it.


The guy I bought it from said you could eat off the floor of the hospital workshop. There are quite a few 230 volt marking



and I would be interested in seeing the inside of a single phase machine, if anyone fancys popping there side off and posting some pics, just for the curiosity.

I've had the welder at least 10 years and this was the first time I've had the cover off. Just shows how good they are.

Another thing I like with these is the fan dont run all the time pulling in crap, I never though about it till I pulled the side of my Cebora it was full of it. crap that is.

BTW, any of you guys use the not-really-pulse function? Been experimenting with sheet metal (1.2mm) and perhaps too thick wire (.8mm) and with the pulse setting I was able to get an ongoing kind of tack weld that looked nice, was able to run at higher settings, like 5, which if I tried manually tack on that setting, had a tendency to blow through sometimes.

Seems to behave well with the right settings, even though I think this is perhaps best done with .6mm wire.
