Or better yet, use an AC pulley which has an EM clutch built in but always driven off the rear prop. That way you could charge it up as you drive along to the job. Just need to get the gearing roughly right - I presume it doesn't matter if it runs slowly but too fast is asking for trouble.
Could even have a hall effect sensor off the pulley so that it automatically disengages when it's too fast.
