latest Miller 259485 Vintage Roadster Digital Elite Welding Helmet

Helmets arrived Monday and all went in post to those that were on the list, hope you get them in time for xmas

Tried mine out and I'm well impressed

The "X mode" sounds good. Keep us updated on how people get on with this lid please. I've an Optrel Satellite at the moment with about 10 lens, so I'm in no hurry to replace it. And the main reason why I've resisted buying a lid that you can grind in.
The reason been grinding sparks will embed in the cover lens, and you will quickly waste an expensive replacement part

I agree my Miller Elite is now just for mig.
First thing I noticed is its even more comfortable than the Elite which was a nice thing to wear anyway

i have no doubts it'll be good.

I had an esab fail on me a while back, it was old,
so i'll be using an old Optrel of mine just for mig and let that lens cloud up,
The new Miller helmet will be strictly for tig.

I have been tempted to get one of these, the only thing stopping me is that I haven't found anywhere that keeps the replacement head gear or parts for it. I have found places listing the head gear but when you look at the pic it is always the old elite type and not the new digital one. I had one of the older ones and didn't like the head gear, the lid kept dropping down and it felt heavy. I know that if looked after it should last anyway but I'd be annoyed if I did break it and only be able to get the old style replacement. If anyone knows if the correct spares a available over here shout up and I will get one

I don't stock them but can get in a few days, The new helmet comes with spare dust covers

Too late, claimed and collected this morning
not used it for any welding yet but the new style headgear appears comfortable and its undarkened state is super clear,

i'm guessing it'll be easier to change settings on the touchpad with gloves on than the small analogue dials are.
