I like the concept but I don't have space for something that size at least until I extend my garage.

I couldnt be happy with my welder living under the table I weld on ,,, but thats just me ,, then again I could never be happy giving someone that much cash for the bits from beside the saw either ,,,

and its green.

Don't want to sound boastful but any average welder and fabber could make that including myself in a day or two, there must be £250-£300 in materials there tops, not forgetting the shopping trolley castors

I am being generous allowing for the 5mm top or given the budget even thicker

If you don't ask you don't get. Brilliant design to put the unit out of sight so any adjustment requires moving and peering into what could be a darker area. Still what can one expect for a cheapy. Also no place for rods etc. except on the shelf and not in the least likely to roll onto the floor.

Vertical welds on corner tubes not ground flush, intermediate shelf could be bent from sheet and much nicer looking, set in about 1" as well, hide those welds to vertical post's underneath.

No electrical distribution, for that price should have a 50' of large SO (rubber 4 conductor) cord leading into box underneath, wired to outlets for each machine, and a few outlets for grinders under first level.

Air hose as well.

Place to wind up large SO cord as well.

Wheels are way too small to enable moving easily with all that weight, bottle rack you have to lift bottle up too high.

Can't utilize full top area with those bottles sticking up on the right side.

No drawers for MIG tips, and Plasma parts.

Looks like 2 seperate horizontal sections welded to the vertical, with weight on the table it will be trying to crush the vertical box sexction or open out the bottom.

£1800 quid - ouch.

For a welding bench I got a 10mm bit of square mild steel plate - tacked onto a used oil drum with sand in it - well half bags of tile adhesive and grout that was going off - bit of sand and some age old cement - damp in workshop will have hardened this over the years for sure.

Works for me - sq plate overlaping on round drum - gives a protruding edge to use clamps.

I got a 10mm another oil drum - with a Record 21 quick release vice on one corner and a Record 92 pipe vice on another corner - this I drilled a hole in it with a hole saw (as when the temp changed in creaked) - I have filled this with used spark plugs over the years - posted them thru the hole.



Drums make cheap benches - they are just the right height - plus they are fairly easy to move about - when you tip them - you can roll them on the bottom round edge - plus ballast is cheap.

A long time ago I sketched out a plan for building a welding table with a rotating tabletop (two working sides), water cooling, a copper face, a grid of holes for clamps, electric cylinders for height adjustment. Taking into account the manufacture of unique parts on their own, the budget for the project is much less than for this craft.
