You could fit a load leveller to the beam trolley then hang the winch from that.If the two beams are separated more than the width of the car then they won't interfere with space used for jacking up the car, so to me they are using headroom that I wouldn't use anyway. But I'd rather only have one beam as it makes my roof design simpler.

Pull it out, over the back end of the power boat. Lift engine off. Worked great, used to store against back wall, with my bike in the middle.

I'd like to do the same here, I also have the problem of liw ceiling height. I had thought of running the cross beam within the channel. I could do with someone to do the calcs
