As you say cheap as chips - usually 'free ex works'. I have lots of those in varying stages of decay.

Your idea and mine of Light Assembly differ though. I can wear those for working with M12 nuts in the garden but not M4 in the garage!

I don't do tractors and earth movers.

I can do M5 with them, very rarely have to take them off

I do suffer with dry skin and it's made worse by frequent washing, these allow me to work for several hours without getting hands dirty and can remove gloves and do clean stuff bypassing the need to wash hands
