Anyone know where I can get a tap urgently?

MSC and Cromwell want over £100.

I need to tap 1 hole in a bit of aluminium.

they will do them in carbon steel or hss . good quality and very reasonable prices. I get all my taps and dies of them as well as all reamers and drill bits

I've got a 22 x 1.5 tap here you can use if it's a part you can trundle over the water with. I'm just outside Longfield, it's a 10 minute drive from the Dartford river crossing

there a good helpful company ive dealt with them for donkeys years dunno if they still do but used to go to the model engineers exhibitions and advertise in the model engineer magazine

Certainly a company I will be supporting more in the future.

My local fastner supplier stocks a lot of Apex taps and they usually get you out of trouble but don’t last long.
But they’re not running at 100% so couldn’t help.

incidentally I think Karcher uses M22x1.5 thread so I can made some couplings up to use different lances
