She was the one who wanted me to sort this out:
Which is what the shed(s) used to look like. Seven years later after being told to remove it by planning control, I got to keep the new shed but chopping off the roof and cladding it with fetheredge board. Two thousand feather edge boards!
It now looks more like this:

Yup me too. There's a linishing machine there too. Where else? On the welding bench? Next to the bike bench? On the engine building bench? It's go to go somewhere and since I recently refurbished a toolpost grinder, I am aware of the risks and responsibilities of having grinding dust anywhere, let alone near the lathe.
I do have designs for a comprehensive extraction system though. Just have to hope the lathe survives until then.

Here's a funny thing though. I simply cut the roof off with a chainsaw, leaving a dead flat roof. So I lifted one end with hydraulic jacks to give me a decent "fall". Inside of course the roof was at an odd angle and you really knew it! It was like being in a shonky shed!
So I doubled up the rafters and levelled the ceiling, stuffed with Kingspan hoiked out of various skips, then skinned it with the ex-roof panels. Job jobbed.

Here's a question for the builders: the external cladding is spaced out with half inch battens.
So there's an air gap (or spider sanctuary) all the way around. Is it worth filling that gap with half inch kingspan? Will that even work on the outside like that?

It has seen few a few incarnations but here's the CF swingarm one:
This one has an XR650 engine fitted, running etc. Just need to refit the fairings.
...and I couldn't resist buying a box of RS250 a few months ago. Needs reframing.
At least one of them is going to end up dressed like this (I have a couple of sets of Tyga bodywork)
So much to do and so little time.

Well I used to have a woodburning stove in there and the biggest problem (other than sloshing fuel around next to it) was you'd never get anything done. Retire to the man cave, make some man fire and just sit there playing with fire.
Mind you. Happy days!
Meantime I have recovered my prize:

A Nikamura Mycentre 4. I may just have a quick ring around see what this "spare part" might be worth before I ruin it. I can hardly believe you'd strip a machine like that and sell such a crucial element. I dread to think how much a replacement would cost!
