You get 230v between any phase and neutral, 415 between any 2 phases.

If you have 415v coils in the DOL starter, you don't need a neutral. If you have 230v coils, you'll need a neutral, and a 5 pin plug with 5 core cable.

Compresor is in situ and I needed to arrange a fresh air supply. No boss on this compressor to attach a pipe, just a plastic housing with holes in the botom, so what to do?

I found a fresh air supply to a toilet extractor vent that comes from a pipe just above the roof. Some expensive pipe and joints later and we have a fresh air supply to both the toilet and the compressor.

There is no foul air! It is just a short length of pipe from the roof, feeding a vent, no connection whatever with drains. Thanks for the thought though.

Yes, sorry I was so vague. Inside the shop there is a toilet (smallest!) room. In there is an extractor fan, no doubt to deal with employees sprout and cabbage diets. It goes through the wall into a 90 degree bend and straight through the flat roof, terminating in a mushroom. I had noted the amount of draught coming from it and realised that it made sense to tee it off just as it came through the roof. Cost more than I expected though, the bits that you can see were over £40.00. However, it does mean that I don't have to put the compressor outside any more. That of course is a pain when it is bad weather.

The only issue now is the noise, but I will just have to put up with it! Not keen on soundproofing as it seems to get quite hot in operation.

Depending how much use, that compressor is going to get very hot, you might need to put a fan in line to force air into the room, and remember the air needs to exit the room as well

Best not to use the compressor at the same time as someone uses the toilet, the "foul air" from the fan won't be nice through your air fed mask.

Well Cobbler, 'tis only me nowadays, my time as an employer is at an end. All I have to do is remember to leave out the sprouts when I am due to do some painting. ;-)

Useful point. If it turns out to be the case then I may have to build a little house for it, the other side of the back wall. That heat issue is why I am not going to enclose it for noise reduction.

Following on from this, I also have a 3hp 14cfm machine mart compressor, have been using it for spraying. I would like to start using 2k paint, so I'm looking to buy another smaller compressor solely for a breathing mask. What is the minimum spec. of compressor to run a mask only? Have seen 6 litre oil free Draper model, insufficient size perhaps??
