Yes, you can get disposable fill adapters.

But what's the point? You have to have a big tank anyway, I'd just used that for my torch.

Plan to get one for propane for portable use.

BTW, those POL-disposable adapters are to connect a hose _not_ an O/A regulator.

the point is it only costs 30 pence to refill of a larger cylinder and £7.00
to buy an exchange or a new disposable , there isnt such thing as an o/a regulator there either a propane reg or an acetylene reg . both the same fittings .then theres an oxygen reg hence an o/a setup

Yep.

Disposable female-to-CGA 510 female fits CGA 510 male common to most acetylene regulators.
POL male to disposable female allows refill of disposables from BBQ cylinders.

I have plenty of oxygen/acetylene/propane cylinders (Praise be to Craigslist!) but any space I can save in the truck when on salvage yard runs means room for more parts. If I'm just snipping a couple of U-bolts to drop a rear axle, I don't need more Oxy-whatever for that job on that day. I already transfill my small oxygen cylinders, so filling a small propane cylinder is no hassle. If I can get say 100mm length x 8mm thickness worth of cut that's fine for a surprising number of jobs.

Propane/pseudoMAPP/whatever is nice because there is no acetone slosh hazard from banging around in the back of a truck. I'd get a 5lb propane tank, but don't like the price.

Yes, but I have to pay $80-$200 to buy a MAPP bottle, then have it filled. Not really worth it as I would only use it a couple of times a year.

I meant use it with my O/A torch.

I said I'd probably get a fill adapter for propane. Still not really worth it as I go through about 2 a year at $3/ea.

If you've got a compressor another option is to use a propane x compressed air torch its a lot hotter than a simple propane torch

We used something similar nearly 40 years ago at school in metalworking classes. Back then it was housegas piped through and mixed with air from a compressor. We brazed etc with this and even had an aluminium smelting plant with the same set up.

These haven't changed in perhaps 90 years. (They were made before Rexarc existed, and they have been around since 1924.)
