JG black plastic 15mm to 1/2" screwed into the steel pipe on the compressor and into a similar sized wallplate at the other (IIRC). I'll take a photo later.

It's controlled by a solenoid so I can have air when I want and turn it off when I've finished without having to go outside.

I have a pile of Speedfit pipe taking up space - would using it for compressed air be practical?
Not huge runs - 20m with 2 or 3 drops.

I woulder if you could even get the right fittings to terminate it.

i use the white speedfit pipe and fittings and its fine. A regular bib tap adaptor is great for terminating the plastic pipe and giving you a wall fixing and an inlet or outlet. just reduce your 1/2 bsp down to 3/8 or 1/4

1/2" or 3/4" tape connectors will work to terminate

See you have a filter there but it would be best to fit a drain tap at the bottom of the pipe probably below the branch there will be a fair collection of water in that pipe over time also the second qf has no way of filtering

i've been meaning to swap the tee around since i installed it over a year ago, so the unregulated takeoff is at the bottom. that should solve it, although i've never had much water from it anyway.

Just need to get a round tuit!

Some excellent replies and i am happy now to use the blue water pipe and fittings plus they are so much cheaper than rubber hose and have enough flexibility for what i am doing as well as enough air flow.

The blue MDPE pipe is prone to shattering in cold weather if it gets hit so it would need protected from damage. The older black alkathene pipe is better suited for air use as it remains flexible in all weathers.

The plasson fittings for the MDPE or alkathene are expensive so if you have a lot of joints it can get a bit spendy!

There is proper plastic pipe rated for air use & for short runs it is reasonably priced, you just need to find a stockist!

If it were me I would use either speedfit pipe & fittings or copper pipe & yorkshire fittings, they are cheap & available everywhere.

you can still buy black. a farm i work on uses 1000s of metres for free range poultry

The numpties on site regularly drive dump trucks over our pipe and it never shatters even in freezing conditions but will eventually split if it's a fully qualified numpty doing the driving!

If you're laying pipe above ground outside black is preferable as it's UV stable.
