What can I say I'm a busy guy. Full time job, part time degree, a demanding better half and a project car plus other hobbies.....I think I need more time.

As above, youtube can be a good resource.

I suppose I'm being a bit harsh, given that I 'taught' myself how to weld with a combination of a rusty SIP 90 mig and a Clarke buzzbox, in the garden, using a handheld mask, before youtube (or even the internet as we know it) was invented - and I had nobody to show me much either.

Oh yes, I first used them 40 years ago 1976. Holden and Collins fab shop.

Absolutely correct. In 73 I was at school and stick welding at home with a 180 Olympic Bantam.

i use the chart from the welders instructions i made a card to put in the welding wire side that i can look at but i have been hobbie welding for only 3 years im my biggest fault finder

but even witth my limited experance i can make ajudstments to get the weld better even welded 5mm to 2mm the other week

but im thinging its more to do with the help from people here and vids on the fourm than experance
