Metal clad sockets

What brands are decent value for money at the moment? I've always been an MK fan boy, but I'm not convinced that they're as good as they were, and they are blimmin' expensive!

Will (hopefully) have a new garage to fit out in the New Year, so would need 10, or so doubles.

I got all of mine (bar one large switch panel) from Screwfix. In my workshop I have 1 single and 17 double sockets, 5 switched fused spurs, and 6 single, double and 4 way switch units, and the only things I've had any trouble with were the two double sockets that had USB outlets on them. I should have read the reviews first! TBF, Screwfix refunded me no question.

MK aren't as good anymore. Try BG from Screwfix.

I've got click metal clad doubles in my garage that seems to be holding up well. Not spendy either, no complaints from me. Bought from superlec.

Another vote for screwfix ones probably a different supplier now but i have about 30 in the workshop and no issues

I replaced the garage electrics 2 years ago and used MK sockets and 3 of the socket switches failed with very little use. All were replaced a few months ago with Screwfix Essentials brand and cheaper too. I do recommend fitting at least one USB socket, great for charging lamps etc.

MK are still OK but for the last few years quality has not been great and the price the consumer pays for that quality is really high especial for their MC sockets.

I have used Telco, BG and Essentials brands in my property, BG imo being superior but all 3 not so far behind MK but a couple of failures.

MK are relying on their brand leader name and head position instead of brand leader quality they once had.

But for build/quality still can't beat MKs pull cord switches.

Click has always been decent for me.

Screwfix, as said already.
If you have a Tool station and a screwfix near by, double check for local deals.

MK aren’t bad but they’re not worth what they charge for them and they definitely aren’t what they used to be.

Click are good sockets/switches at a good price. Never had an issue with metal clad click gear.

I’ve had some shocking ones from screwfix in the past so avoid them now.

I was randomly surfing and came across the question, a few people had a look with no hits, the conclusion was no.

Things may have changed, you might be lucky but I can't find any, where you can turn USB sockets off.

i use scolmore click for shower and light pull chords substantial and reasonably priced
