Thanks for all your messages guys. Understood about the difficulty of the task, but it wouldn't be a challenge if it was easy.

Regarding potential restoration, I fancy doing an old mini. Not going to happen yet though as need to move house to get a garage first which wont be until next year. So I have time to practice before hand. My daughter is also keen on getting a midget although I don't intend that to be a full restoration.

I joined this forum to get advice on the trailer I was building. Almost finished after about 8 years
Trailer looks fairly ordinary but far from it under the skin. Thinnest steel used is 6mm. Axle is 3500kg so needed custom wheels and lorry tyres!
Aluminium sides ready to go on. Still have to do the aluminium mudguards and running boards. Will sandblast and paint the steel frame with epoxy first.

I have both Mini and Midget, my first and second cars.

Advantages to both lots of parts/knowledge available.
Disadvantages you will find approx. 80% more rust than is initially visible

I started here 17 odd years ago, I think I had a single phase buzz box.

It's been a steady decent to proper toys.

September 16, 2007, I signed up here, a while back, advanced from a buzz box ++ and the rest is history.
16 years later I've a three phase arc, mig, and ac/dc tig, plasma,mill and lathe, plus swan neck band saw. And a cold cut saw.

God help us (me).
