Its actually "Lorch Net" but I used Can Bus as a comparison.
They use Can Bus in a lot of things dont they??
Theres Profi Bus and a few others used on robots and stuff isn't there? I don't know much about Robots or CNC's tho
I think just about anything seams to use can bus, even concrete crushers... The diag seams a bit of nightmare at the moment as often when theres a fault, It reads as one thing and turns out to be something else...
Friend of mine is currently driving one of these, all can bus stuff, trouble is can bus thinks theres fuel problems, and continually shuts power to the engine, also when they unplug the header to move the machine on the road, The computer needs rebooting, plus the GPS and self steer are a law onto them selfs apparantly........

list is around half a million, stuff like the GPS self steer, mapping etc can add another 50K on its own.....
Mate was showing me all the self drive stuff, lit rely once you've turned it on the headland the computer and the GPS take over..... even keeping the machine full to capacity.... Its only a matter of time before the driver ain't gonna be there
Funny his boss will spend that on a machine but has quibbled over a fiver of consumables tagged to the invoice

I see that all the time in Welding game too........some will think nothin of spending 10's of thousands on the best CNC press brakes, Guillotines, laser cutters etc, but then moan like hell if they have to spend a few grand on a machine to weld the fabs up with! Never made sense too me.
