Mig Wire Feed Problem on Murex Tradesmig 130

Hi Mike

She's already got a Steel Feed Roller, so I didn't want to replace it with an alloy one, as although this Set is incredibly old, when its 'on song' it will knock those DIY sets into next week
I could be wrong but I still think that She could be in need of a new feed roller

I've got one coming from China and if that makes any difference then I'll get another one from Mechafin. I've already sent them an email, so hopefully they will get back to me after the weekend

This is what I am doing but unfortunately progress is slow as I am finding it hard to get spares and the really bad Weather is also not helping at all

I've ordered a new feed roller and waiting for that to arrive, so when it does then I will update you on the progress or the problems such as they may be

I've finally managed to Fix my Wire Feed Problem by putting the Wire Feed roller under a friends Microscope and found the groove in the roller blocked with 'Crud' of some kind, which was causing the wire to slip rather than grip, so rather than risk damage by cleaning it with a wire

brush, we cleaned it in Vinegar using an Ultrasonic Cleaner.

Then we did this again with water and thoroughly dried it off and then we tried it, the result was it Worked Perfect! and has continued to do so ever since

Cheers! I was amazed myself, as I had tried everything I could think of without success but when we put the feed roller in the Ultrasonic Cleaner, the 'Crud' or whatever it was came flooding out, also as a side note, the New feed roller which I ordered from China also turned up which only cost £2-82p on ebay

The Quality was amazing and fitted on the Keyway just like the OEM where the only downside being that it may have needed a little bit of modding in the form of a couple of washers or a bit of packing out on each side, as the middle spigot isn't quite wide as the OEM although it is quite possible that the Wire might have kept it on track

But as I've got it working, I didn't want to tempt providence by swapping the original 'if it ain't broke don't fix it' and now that I have fixed it I'm leaving well alone! (though always handy to keep as a spare in case needed)

Photo Below: is of my Chinese Feed Roller made of Steel and felt as heavy as the OEM although the center spigot may have needed modding, with a couple of washers or a bit of packing on each side but apart from that the dimensions were the same as the OEM

£2.82 eh A family will be eating well in China tonight...
Worth putting the new one in a zip top bag after giving it a light coat of oil and tuck it in the wire reel compartment.
