milwakee skill saw fault

Right my milwakee skill saw well circualr saw I have a mains skill saw!
Has stopped working, not had much use.
It was intermittent for a while now it wont go at all.

I have read that there are known problems with the trigger mechanisms.

Has any one else had any problems with the milwakee M18 circular saw?

no it is out of warranty unfortunately, and I picked it up in the USA anyway.

Never ever take the trigger unit apart unless you want 600 tiny springs and contacts to explode across the workshop.

Don't ask me how I know this.

The cheapest place i found for spares was a guy in Ireland. He goes under the name antfal-3 on Ebay

Have you had a similar fault then.

all fixed, stripped it apart found the fault with the trigger, so stripped that only one of the 600 springs flung across the room!
Cleaned the contacts in the switch and reassembled, still not working so I did it a second time.
Hey presto all working and no need to purchase a new switch yet.

it was working well then I needed it yesterday and it failed to work! packing up my tools at the end of the day low and behold it worked!

poxy saw! I may have to bite the bullet and get a new trigger mechanism!
it was working again for a while and today I went to use it and nah not playing ball! lucky I had the sawsall and recipro saws with me

well this saw ended up in the bin, it was not the trigger in the end!

My replacment saw is playing up now also!

Milwaukee is unfortunately now junk.

I've recently had to buy a new drill and driver, having had my snap on one for over 7 years!

Went with milwaukee at £379

Really not impressed with the milwaukee, nice and small, fairly lightweight. But the build quality is plasticky and flimsy.

Didnt see much difference between red, blue and yellow so went for the cheapest set.

I think some things it really pays to buy better quality - metabo for metalworking, hilti for construction,

I would agree - but also I still at - corded tools for skillsaws - big SDS drills and grinders.

Battery tools are OK - but they not got the service life of corded tools and pneumatic tools for hard daily use!

my 240v skill saw is a skill, little 6" I also have the makita plung saw 240v but really need a cordless, I shall have a wee look, I guess I could use anyreally with a battery adaptor

Nephew had one go faulty almost from new, said it was a relatively easy fix, he just shoved it in a cupboard till warranty ran out then decided to fix it, go figure
