Missing airfilter

The air compressors that I have, use standard pipe type threads,so I just screwed a short piece of pipe into the block and screwed the filter onto that.

I suppose that you could use a remote oil filter kit, to mount the filter where ever you want.
But I would start to worry about inlet flow friction if it was a very long inlet pipe.

Your kit will have American threads, over here most air fittings are BSP (British Standard Pipe).

That picture is of a replaceable element type filter, not the screw-on type I use.

With the screw-on type I suspect the bypass valve could either be in the engine or the filter cannister, would depend on the application. All I know is the Metro one works fine.

the flow is still from the outer holes through the filter in to the center tube whichever type is used, i just use a stihlsaw filer on one of mine
