motor bike gear lever, genious?

The gear lever on my Ural none Project bike was a piece of junk, so I needed a new one.
Could not find one to fit (for free) so we had to make one.
two M8 nuts locked onto each other on the threaded part of the gearbox shaft, one 13mm spanner and a piece of another lever for the toe piece. Works perfectly.


genious or what? shame about looking like a cheapskate with a silverloins tool, Snapon would have had so much class on a shed ike this one.

As a bike it is like those raddled old women you see in laundrettes, it has a kind of faded beauty if you squint and think about it.



But there is no excuse for this kind of thing.

Ingenuity and thrift are to be admired.
It is getting to the point,that it is cheaper to drill holes in coins,than to buy washers.
Notice the upper motor mounts,and how many lug wrenches do you see ?

Quality work, this kind of thing show bodging at it's finest stage of evolution.
Three ring spanners each side and are the frame rails made of spanners of some kind as well?

The frame and forks are almost completely,made of automotive tire irons.
I think the foot pegs are the ends of some fireplace pokers.
The motor is a Chinese ATV motor with the torque converter transmission.
Bodging at its finest.

Not a fan of bikes as such, but do like watching the fabrication, OCC built a bike using lots of spanners, sockets etc for various parts. Obviously they used Snap on, not silverline though.

I dont fancy fleabaying it as I can imagine the nutters and tyre kickers I would have to deal with.
Also do not want to get in a spat with The Moderators re selling dodgy vehicles.
Two reasons for getting rid of it.
1, it is sat there insulting me every time I go in the Ratcave, some mad hippy rebuilt it in a great style, it deserves to be used not sat there.

2, I jokingly asked Jr if he fancied a trip to Germany or Spain on the Honda, he said yes. In my best gunnery Sergeant Hartman I explained that he will be a world of the brown substance and will only get worse until it ends, he still said yes!! Now I have to source leaky boots and waxed cotton and a ply wood seat base for him. Just like when Pa was young. 600+mile days and stiff bums.

so the Russian thing has to pay for a Dad and The Lad Road Trip.
A worthy sacrifice.
